Unfortunately the genius is only viewable in the beautiful artwork done for this movie, because indoor shots as well as outdoor shots are breathtaking.
Spoilers ahead.
However, every character in the movie seems to have a death wish, if they are not too busy poking holes in the plot wider than a train tunnel.
This movie is best watched either high on Krenole ( the industrial waste people seem to be enjoying blowing away their brains with in Snowpiecer, pun intended. or with a good portion of surreality, because nothing in this movie is anywhere close to being made intelligently.
To people who say this is a movie criticizing our society: The only thing that this movie portrays is an astounding stupidity on everybody"s part. Nothing deep or thoughtful happens in this movie. NOTHING.
You can read any review here on this movie scored 3 or lower and get tons of good ideas on how to NOT DO A MOVIE, but for my own amusement I will list my own top ten ( or twenty or more. You could basically do this all day long. br> 1) No guard posts are set up, even though there is open rioting going on. Oh, wait. I forgot about the new holiday policy on the train.
2)The stupidity of having to control your population by having riots killing off people regularly is. well, at least you save on condoms, right?
3) After FIVE MINUTES of massacre in the tunnel literally everybody is still alive and can call out for torch lights being carried Olympian style through the entire length of the train, to arrive there five more minutes later, to still find everybody intact and in fighting shape. Oh and that torch obviously had babies on its way to the fray. Cute.
4) A full store cabin of foodstuff, yet not a single cart carrying actual livestock. I am guessing the train is actually piggybacked on a cattle trail. Made immune to cold. Yepp, sounds about right. Makes more sense than the engine being a perpetual motion thing anyway.
5) Luring your enemies into your child"s classroom, only for the PREGNANT teacher drawing out an Uzi to assassinate them is PURE GENIUS! I always knew teachers had a dark streak, much like clowns, and finally giving them the chance to act on their frustrations. WELL DONE!
6) Gilliam works from inside the tail section to instigate riots to help the population control. So we are to believe that a guy gave his arm to cannibalize on willingly to safe a baby in order to stick to a lifetime of poverty and dirt in the tail section to regularly send people to their death? Lolwut? Oh, wait, I forgot. Evereybody on this train is a mental patient, so all is well and everybody is acting normally, within their respective limits.
7) I don"t think I can do more than five. My eye is starting to twitch nervously just thinking of writing more about this train wreck of a movie.
Overall the entire movie gives a lasting impression of a feverish dream while being on a bad trip.
And in the end, when everybody except two have killed them self off, you see them meeting a polar bear in the Himalayas and you know everything is going to be well: The polar bear will eat those two, too, and finally the entire train of stupid has come to a halt. Thank you, Mister Polar Bear. Well done.

This movie is like Gravity where every 3 minutes something so stupid happens it pulls me out of the movie. I have no idea how so many critics and audiences enjoy this kind of ludicrous crap.
Tilda Swinton was great. I was surprised Chris Evans could say the lines with a straight face but I guess he is OK with nonsense as long as it"s done stylishly like many reviewers.
I only review movies that I think are far better or worse than the majority of reviews make them out to be.
I keep waiting for the reviewers to say "The whole thing was tongue in cheek. It was supposed to be ridiculous" But it seems people take it seriously. Weird.

Honestly this it"s crap
The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it Reminds me of the train level in golden eye 64. I don"t usually write reviews but I felt I had to on this film. A lot of reviews here are focused on the "plot holes" and the science of this film. The thing is though the genre is science FICTION! Its not meant to be real. Its a film made for entertainment purpose and boy did it entertain me. I loved it. Its different and unusual yes but its also brilliant. The vast array of acting skills here is great. Told is brilliantly mad while Chris Evans manages to play a Dar yet still somewhat emotional character and he captured my attention perfectly. For me he stole the show and proved that he really can act. Credit where credits due. This film will not be for everyone but if you go into it with an open mind and don"t think too much about science you"ll love it.

The Godfather tells the sprawling tale of the Corleone family, a mafia family after the Second World War. Over the course of the 2 hours and 50 minute epic, you will see the best drama, characters and atmosphere to ever grace the screen.
It starts with the Godfather Waltz theme, an iconic piece. Just like that, the stage is set for the most Italian film ever. I believe it was the producer who wanted Coppola to direct because he was Italian. He wanted audiences to "smell the spaghetti" watching this film. Anyway, we then cut to a man"s face, talking to an unseen figure, pleading to him for justice. Emotion drips off every word. Every scene in the Godfather has purpose, every line of dialogue has meaning. The camera switches to the other side of the table- Marlon Brando sits, hair slicked, moustache, rose in suit, cat on lap, in all of his glory as Don Vito Corleone, one of the most iconic characters ever.
Have I said "iconic" a lot? Much of the Godfather is. The Don himself, Michael"s rise, Sonny"s temper, the offer you can"t refuse.
The setting is very important to the Godfather. 1946 New York is wonderfully put together, as well as the hills of Sicily and for a short period of time, Las Vegas. Every scene is full, no scene is filler. Inside of each scene is dialogue- lots of it. But you"ll hang on to every word, because of the content and the flawless delivery. Action in the Godfather is sparse, but like the hits shown, short and brutal. You"ll be kept on your toes. Anyone can die at any moment, and they do. The pacing is perfect.
The characters are some of the greatest compiled in a film, and any of the major characters could carry a film on their own. The Don"s mumble, appearance and honour are perfected by Brando. Pacino convincingly, slowly shows what being in a mafia family can do to even a kind boy who isn"t a part of it. Tom Hagen is the logic and calm in the sea of guns and violence. And Sonny, with his temper and tongue steals scenes.
Perfectly executed, the sweeping story is so well interwoven you might not get it all on the first viewing. It all makes sense though: everything happens for a reason, and everything is explained. From the beginning wedding, to the diner, and ending with Michael"s transformation, the plot of the Godfather is one of the best.
I hope I"ve convinced you to see this masterpiece, or if you"ve already seen it, see it again. No amount of talking can equal to actually seeing it. Better than Shawshank, better than its own Part II, The Godfather is the best movie ever made and you cannot say you love movies until you"ve seen the Godfather. See this movie, and order a lasagna. 10/10.

Anyone else think he"s the love child of Milton Berle. The actress usually picks movie scripts like this and shes really good at capturing it. Valley girls movie 1983. I am glad that the topic of Pica was raised in this film. I have been struggling with this disease for 12 years (I am 18) and I know from my own experience how difficult it is to cure this. Most people know this disease from My strange addiction and find Pica ridiculous, they laugh that sick people drink gas or eat sand, they don"t pay attention to the psychological problems this people face and how difficult it is to live in a society full of hatred directed at abnormal people. This disease is often associated with other mental illnesses or can cause them(because of Pica I"m struggling also with depression and stalking paranoia. I personally try not to talk about my illness but I hope that after this movie some people will look differently, with understanding at people dealing with Pica :heart.
